Hell maybe Taven and Daegons blades were made from the Edenian Kamidogu. These weapons could be remenants of the Netherrealm war or other great sorcery. Only Raiden fucks up and let's a demon loose, which is worse than a wraith, so the blade senses it and calls to the entity. Hence why Raiden has Scorpion safe guard it, because the blades proximity to the wraith would silence it. Like the blade wants to be wielded by an evil soul or wraith of some sort. Only this one can serve as a beacon to evil. Everytime ashrah kills with that blade she loses a piece of herself to the blade. It could have helped him kill Lucifer and attain the throne, however the blade could feed off emotions and bloodlust.
Maybe the blade Ashrah finds was created by Shinnok using the Netherrealm kamidogu. Like maybe they can reference ashrah and the Kriss blade. The daggers could just be weapons crafted using the power of the kamidogu. I agree that they should be these abstract icons that eminate raw power.
